We supply tyres to many of the world’s major Motor brands such as Jaguar Land Rover, Porsche, Range Rover, Lamborghini, Bentley and Aston Martin to name a few. Pirelli UK Tyres Ltd is the company responsible for all of the Pirelli Tyre related operations in the UK.

Two 24-month graduate roles are available within a small, focused team. In this role, you will support the industrialisation of both OE (Original Equipment) and replacement products. Following the initial training period, you will be expected to assist in processing product sizes through sign-off procedures for both OE and replacement products. You will also contribute to Design to Cost (DTC) initiatives and material development activities. The opportunities are based at our site in Carlisle, Cumbria.

Main duties include:

  • Specification processing into the relevant factory systems to allow production of the prototype specifications
  • Maintenance of production specifications within the factory systems
  • Document creation for the industrialization of development sizes, following the industrialization and change procedure to allow sizes to be made available for production after completion of the process according to the requirements and timelines defined
  • Requesting of necessary tests for both indoor and outdoor testing based on each project requirement. Subsequent compiling of results and build summaries once available. This would be during the development, industrialization and for certification purposes
  • Data analysis for problem solving to support the product development engineering team
  • Monitoring of industrialization builds vs the industrialization procedure requirements to ensure actions are in place to bring the industrialization to a successful closure with the defined timelines
  • Completion of product analysis for industrial sign off documentation, fault finding and compliance using tools such as tyre section analysis
  • Prototype tyre shipment organisation and the subsequent import/export operations
  • Project management using available tools to keep project documentation up to date
  • Creation and implementation of software to support in departmental efficiencies and digitalization
  • Testing of new software tools relevant to the department
  • Support to other areas of the department when necessary
  • Supporting of the quality industrialization team in the following activities where required:
    • Data analysis on pre-production sizes to identify any failure modes which do not comply to the industrialisation procedure requirements to industrialise sizes
    • Updating of tyre mini-specifications and maintenance of the specifications within the factory systems
    • Completion of the final stage of the industrialization process documents to evaluate the industrial performance of the products
    • COP (Conformity of Production) failure analysis, investigating root cause and implementation of future actions to prevent failures

Education and professional background:

Essential:

  • Degree educated in appropriate subject (mechanical, materials engineering or science related degree)
  • Experience in data analysis and interpretation

Desirable:

  • Experience within a manufacturing / automotive environment
