Job Scope
Working independently, but as part of a small Property team, take ownership for the provision of a professional and practical service, for projects from initial feasibility through to completion and building maintenance to the entire factory site.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Supporting with the identification of projects
- Undertaking feasibility studies into schemes which are planned to be implemented across the business, liaising and co-ordinating with all project stakeholders.
- Managing a wide variety of capital project and building maintenance projects.
- Strong financial and budget management skills and experience of managing project teams, controlling contractors and consultants.
- Preparing tender packages, tender analysis, contracts and contract administration throughout the project.
- Ownership of all building maintenance, fire safety, capital projects undertaken on the site.
- Ensuring the management and control of individual project costs.
- Health and safety management for all building works and associated contractors.
- Identification and ongoing management of contractors / suppliers.
Required Qualifications and Aptitudes
- Education: Degree in Building Surveying or Construction Management or equivalent experience
- Membership of RICS or CIOB
- Health and Safety qualification, NEBOSH, IOSH (desirable) along with a good understanding of fire safety.
Experience
- Able to demonstrate significant (10 years minimum) experience of working in a similar role
- Experience of working within an industrial environment is desirable
- Able to demonstrate experience of managing projects of significant value
- Able to demonstrate experience of contract administration and preparing JCT or similar contracts.
- Have detailed knowledge and experience of CDM regulations to undertake role of Principal Designer as required.
- Experience of managing building maintenance, diagnosing defects and preparing schedules of work
- Experience in operating a site in compliance with all health and safety rules.
- Experience of fire safety and fire safety equipment and in particular sprinkler systems.

- Ability to organise workload and prioritise, be self-motivated to ensure deadlines are achieved
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, able to successfully negotiate and influence with internal and external customers

- Good IT knowledge and skills, AutoCad would be highly desirable
- Able to drive with full driving licence essential
- Flexibility to travel across sites essential
Salary for this role will be £48k - £52k, depending upon qualification, skills and experience.
