Pirelli Tyres, one of the world’s leading international tyre manufacturers, is seeking an experienced Motorsport Trackside Engineer to join its Motorsport division. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with a minimum of three years’ motorsport experience who is looking to take the next step in their career.
As a key member of the Pirelli Motorsport team, you will have a strong understanding of how motorsport operates and will play an integral role in most aspects of tyre engineering. You will provide professional, high-quality trackside support at race events both in the UK and overseas. You will be passionate about motorsport and possess excellent practical skills gained within a motorsport environment. You will be an experienced problem solver with the ability to analyse and interpret data, evaluate physical cases, and produce clear, timely reports while meeting strict deadlines. A continuous-improvement mindset is essential, including the development of tools and templates to enhance understanding of race data. Strong communication skills are key, as you will interact professionally and appropriately with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. You will collaborate effectively across all motorsport functions, demonstrating teamwork, professionalism and respect in line with Pirelli’s values.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver a first-class, professional engineering service in line with Pirelli Motorsport requirements.
- Analyse and interpret race data for Pirelli and allocated motorsport teams, driving continuous performance improvement.
- Produce clear, accurate and factual reports within required timeframes.
- Maintain exceptional attention to detail and resilience in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Work collaboratively as part of the Engineering team and with other Pirelli Motorsport functions as required.
- Take initiative to solve problems through statistical analysis, technical investigation and regular communication with colleagues, line managers and race team personnel.
- Identify and undertake training and development to maintain and enhance your skills and performance.
- Perform any additional duties appropriate to the role to support the success of Pirelli Motorsport.
- A relevant industry-related degree.
- Minimum of three years’ experience within a motorsport environment.
- Strong proficiency in MATLAB and Excel.
- Willingness and ability to undertake substantial worldwide travel.
- The successful candidate must have full, existing right to work in the UK. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
- Candidates must also hold a valid passport that permits unrestricted international travel.
