Studio Assistants are a key part of the operations team, working alongside cleaning staff supporting the Studio Manager ensuring our studios run smoothly and that artists have a great experience at Pirate. This role is 8 hours per week paying £14:80 per hour. The shifts are split over the weekend, 4hrs on Saturday and 4hrs on a Sunday each, split between our Hackney and Dalston locations.
Role Responsibilities
- Room Triaging: Ensure that the room has been cleaned and reset by the cleaning staff as per the Visual Guidelines documents and ensure any unfinished cleaning duties are prioritised.
- Ensure any reported faults (tickets) have been addressed before the next customer is due to arrive on site using our ticketing system (Zuper).
- All musical equipment in each room is present according to the listing on our booking system (Kraken).
- Create security tickets when equipment is identified as missing or vandalism has been identified.
- Create CX tickets when equipment or estate issues require a room to be brought down (offline).
- Pro-actively testing equipment to detect and fix issues before they affect users.
- Carry out drum maintenance in our ‘Rehearsal’ rooms ensuring wingnuts and pads are replaced and the drum stool is usable.
- All dials on amps, speakers, mixing desks and microphones are reset or zeroed and the equipment is ready to “Pick Up and Play”.
- Check the physical integrity of the ‘Codelock’ mechanism and door closure on each door throughout the building.
- Check all plug sockets and light switches for signs of fault and raising accompanying tickets.
- Check smoke detector heads are present and blockage free.
- Check AC is functioning correctly and the accompanying remote is present and visible.
- Check CCTV cameras are free of obstruction and angled correctly.
- Ensure sanitising equipment for customer use is present.
Compliance
- Assist the Studio Manager in making sure the site is compliant at all times by carrying out fire alarm testing and visual checks of the fire extinguishers, signage and panels to ensure they are damage free and any vandalism is reported by raising a security ticket for further investigation.
- Carry out water temperature checks.
General Tasks
- Providing excellent customer service as the on-site representative of Pirate, assisting artists as needed, and being a point of contact whilst on site for CX to ask for help with assisting customers.
- Codelock audits to ensure that all codelock units are working correctly and 4D codes are correctly listed on our database.
- Assist the SM with a wide range of ‘low-skilled’ general maintenance tasks such as equipment repairs, painting and clearing outdoor areas and fire exits of excess foliage.
