PIRATE STUDIOS is the world’s leading network of rehearsal, DJ and recording spaces, with locations across the UK, Ireland, Germany and the USA and ambitious plans to grow further.
About the role: We’re now hiring for two evening Studio Hosts at our Hackney Wick location. These roles will be the on-site face of Pirate, ensuring the studios run safely, smoothly, and professionally. You’ll greet customers, check bookings, maintain the site to standard, and provide a calm, confident presence. If you’ve worked in bars, venues, hotels or nightclubs or of course music recording studios and know how to combine hospitality with firm, fair customer management, this could be a great fit.
What you’ll be doing:
- Customer Champion: Welcome and check in customers, verify bookings/ID, stay visible in the communal areas and keep track of who’s on site.
- Safety: Maintain a friendly, approachable but professional presence. Liaise with our CCTV control room, report incidents and ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Clean and Tidy vibes: Keep the space clean, safe and operational; reset studios between sessions.
- Artist Support: Handle basic troubleshooting and coordinate with our 24/7 remote support team.
- Team Player: Liaise with the Site Manager on maintenance, customer issues, and any late-night incidents. Ensure site presentation is always to a very high standard, equipment is operational, and issues are identified and resolved quickly.
What We’re Looking For: We’re after someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll be confident working solo late at night, but also love chatting with artists, problem-solving on the fly, and being part of something bigger.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Experience in customer-facing, front of house or concierge roles (hospitality, retail, events, etc.)
- Confident, warm, and approachable
- Strong multitasker who stays calm under pressure
- Excellent communicator - both spoken and written
- Basic understanding of music gear is a plus but not essential
- Reliable, responsible, and cool-headed in challenging situations
Desirables:
- Experience with incident reporting or facilities systems
- Familiarity with music spaces, studios, or equipment
- Awareness of Health & Safety standards (or happy to be trained)
- Comfortable assisting with basic tech troubleshooting
