The Role

No previous experience in composites is required, as full training will be provided.

We are looking for someone who is hands‑on, practical and willing to learn. Ideally, you will have some experience using basic hand tools and be comfortable working with your hands and carrying out practical tasks. Previous experience in engineering, manufacturing, assembly, construction, maintenance or a similar environment would be beneficial, but is not essential.

You will receive training for each task you are expected to perform, with the opportunity to develop your skills and become highly trained in advanced composite manufacturing.

Some examples of the tasks you will be performing include:

  • Cutting and kitting carbon fibre raw materials
  • Laying up carbon fibre materials into mould tools
  • Releasing carbon composite components from moulds
  • Cleaning, sealing and applying release agents to mould tools
  • General cleaning and tidying of work areas
  • Maintaining and completing relevant paperwork and production documentation
  • Assisting various production departments with tasks such as manual lifting and fitting, gluing, machine maintenance, packaging and documentation
  • Following production processes and quality requirements
  • Working safely and maintaining a clean and organised working environment

You may be required to work either an early or late shift:

  • Early shift: 06:00–14:00
  • Late shift: 14:00–22:00

We also have night shifts available: 22:00-06:00, with a shift uplift of x1.33 per hour

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A practical, hands‑on approach to work
  • Some experience using hand tools and carrying out practical tasks
  • A willingness and ability to learn new skills quickly
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to follow instructions and apply knowledge correctly
  • A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Good timekeeping and reliability
  • The ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
  • A good work ethic and a desire to continually improve
  • Basic computer skills; experience using Microsoft Office would be an advantage

Previous composite manufacturing experience is not essential. We are more interested in finding someone who is reliable, hardworking, practical and eager to learn. Full training will be provided.

What We Offer

This is a great opportunity for someone to join an established and growing team and develop a career in advanced composite manufacturing.

With the right attitude, commitment and ambition, there is plenty of scope to become highly skilled and fully trained, with opportunities to develop and progress within the company.

In return, we offer:

  • Competitive salary
  • 20 days' holiday plus bank holidays
  • A good and safe working environment
  • Full training and development
  • The opportunity to work on cutting‑edge engineering and manufacturing projects
  • The chance to work on specialist aerospace and defence projects that are not available anywhere else in Cornwall
  • Opportunities for further career development and progression within the company

We are looking for an honest, hardworking and reliable individual who is always looking to improve, eager to learn new skills and takes pride in the quality of their work.
