We are particularly interested in candidates from automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, aerospace or similarly advanced manufacturing environments where Lean principles, statistical analysis and data-driven decision-making are embedded in day-to-day operations. We are looking for someone who can not only analyse manufacturing performance but actively improve it, using advanced data capabilities to identify opportunities, implement solutions and demonstrate measurable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement
- Lead and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives to improve productivity, efficiency, manufacturing flow and operational performance.
- Identify and eliminate manufacturing waste, inefficiencies, bottlenecks and non-value-added activities.
- Apply Lean methodologies including 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standardised Work and structured root-cause analysis.
- Analyse production processes, labour utilisation, cycle times, equipment capacity and material flow to identify improvement opportunities.
- Establish and refine standard manufacturing times, labour requirements and production performance benchmarks.
- Lead continuous improvement projects, working directly with production, engineering and quality teams to implement sustainable changes.
- Quantify and demonstrate improvements through measurable reductions in manufacturing costs, labour hours, waste and production lead times.
- Production Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Independently develop and maintain advanced Power BI dashboards providing detailed visibility of manufacturing performance.
- Utilise Power BI, Power Query, SQL, DAX and advanced Excel to develop sophisticated data models, automated reporting systems and analytical tools.
- Apply programming and scripting capabilities to automate data extraction, processing and reporting.
- Integrate manufacturing information from ERP/MRP systems, production trackers, labour records and quality databases.
- Develop comprehensive production KPIs covering output, labour efficiency, material consumption, scrap, rework, throughput and delivery performance.
- Apply statistical analysis, trend analysis and Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques to identify process variation and performance improvement opportunities.
- Provide clear, actionable manufacturing intelligence to support operational decisions, capacity planning and continuous improvement.
- Production Planning & Resource Optimisation
- Work with Production Managers to develop and maintain effective daily, weekly and medium-term manufacturing plans.
- Support the allocation and optimisation of labour, skills, equipment and manufacturing resources across production departments.
- Maintain accurate production schedules, resource plans and work-order tracking systems.
- Develop capacity models to identify resource constraints and assess the impact of changing production requirements.
- Monitor actual production performance against plan, identifying potential delivery risks and recommending corrective actions.
- Improve production planning processes through better data visibility, automation and resource utilisation.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and delivering measurable continuous improvement projects.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, labour productivity, production flow and operational efficiency.
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Power Query, SQL, DAX and Microsoft Excel, with demonstrable experience developing complex dashboards and analytical solutions.
