We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who is keen to broaden their experience, contribute to key commercial initiatives, and develop towards a future business-partnering role.
As Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end close activities, and providing insight to help the business achieve its strategic objectives. With ongoing site growth, the role offers exposure to a range of exciting commercial and capital projects.
Key Responsibilities- Complete key elements of recurring month-end and year-end close processes.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations, including fixed assets, prepayments, and liabilities.
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements and balance sheet reports.
- Analyse cost centre budgets, including MI on headcount and utility trends, providing meaningful insights to management.
- Manage essential internal processes such as new project and capital expenditure requests.
- Support the Finance Director with capex assessments and ROI evaluations.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting through data gathering, trend analysis, and business partnering with site management.
- Support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and information.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
- Internal: Finance Director, Grangemouth Finance Team, GBSS (Indian Shared Service Teams), Procurement teams (Morpeth & Grangemouth).
- External: External Auditors, Banking partners.
- Reports to: Finance Director
- Direct Reports: None
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
- Experience working within a finance team to deliver month-end close processes.
- Strong background in balance sheet reconciliations and internal financial reporting.
