As a Protein Scientist specialising in Antibody-Drug Conjugates (ADCs), you will play a key role in laboratory experimentation supporting technology transfer, development, and manufacturing of cutting-edge oncology products. Your work will directly contribute to developing robust, GMP-compliant processes that ultimately improve patient outcomes.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities- Laboratory Activities
- Plan and execute laboratory experiments and analyses in line with project plans and customer requirements.
- Support technology transfer and development of fit-for-purpose processes.
- Accurately record all work in official laboratory notebooks and contribute data to technical reports.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external clients when required.
- Quality & Compliance
- Follow laboratory procedures to ensure work is carried out safely, effectively, and to the required quality standards.
- Adhere strictly to approved protocols and procedures in line with GMP expectations.
- Manufacturing Support
- Collaborate with colleagues across Process Development, Analytical Development, QC, and Manufacturing to share data and progress development work.
- Provide hands-on support during first-time manufacturing runs.
- Troubleshoot scale-up activities and offer first-line technical support.
- Housekeeping / ESH
- Maintain laboratories and associated areas in a controlled and compliant state.
- Ensure safety and hygiene standards are consistently met.
- Comply with COSHH, risk assessments, and ESH requirements.
- Training & Knowledge Sharing
- Provide on-the-job training to new or less experienced colleagues.
- Support training on laboratory procedures and equipment use.
- Critical Tasks
- Meet agreed project timelines.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of raw data and analytical interpretation.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost control, safety, and development performance.
- Protein modification and conjugation chemistry.
- Strong understanding of protein structure and function.
- Background knowledge in organic chemistry.
- Experience with ADC and protein purification.
- Strong data interpretation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive, analytical mindset.
