Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Operational Excellence (OE) Lead to support the implementation of our OE program across manufacturing sites in the UK. This role is pivotal in partnering with site OE leads and senior leadership teams (SLTs) to deploy and enhance the OE program in alignment with our global OE framework. The ideal candidate will provide both academic and hands-on support to drive the deployment and maturation of the Daily Management System (DMS) and foundational thematic initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive foundational and thematic initiatives in accordance with the global OE framework and long-range plan (LRP), working closely with the core OE team and UK leadership to refine strategies that address critical business challenges.
- Enhance OE maturation across UK sites, fostering continuous improvement (CI) capabilities, mindsets, and behaviors within site teams to align with business and site imperatives.
- Ensure business and site performance objectives/KPIs are achieved through the DMS, serving as an overarching program.
- Collaborate with the central OE team to define and implement OE strategies at UK sites, program managing thematic initiatives such as OEE improvement, OTIF enhancement, COPQ reduction, and Lean Six Sigma (LSS) certifications (WB/YB/GB/BB), among others.
- Adapt to unique challenges and provide tailored support to enhance the current program in collaboration with site managers.
- Integrate site improvement and transformation plans within the DMS framework, actively participating in the deployment process.
- Facilitate the effective and efficient deployment of strategic initiatives alongside site OE leads, championing goals of Zero Defects, Zero Deterrents, Zero Harm, and Zero Waste.
- Address key site issues through a standardized Performance Management System (PMS) approach across all operational tiers.
- Offer on-site and remote assistance to site OE leads and teams for smooth DMS implementation, ensuring systematic process confirmation of deployed standards.
- Collaborate with site OE leads to train, coach, and validate the deployment of DMS standards, also conducting maturity assessments to ensure compliance and improvement.
- Utilise data analytics to identify opportunities for process enhancements, combining thematic improvement projects with DMS elements for ongoing advancements in Productivity, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Safety.
- Master Lean, Theory of Constraints (ToC), and Six Sigma methodologies to mentor users in effective tool utilization for project implementation and problem-solving.
- Proactively identify and manage obstacles to project success, strategising and delivering training events to build the capabilities of site OE resources and leaders in Lean Six Sigma modules.
- Lead the Lean Six Sigma belt program to achieve LRP goals.
Qualifications:
- Master Black Belt (MBB) or Black Belt (BB) certification in Lean Six Sigma.
- Additional certifications in WCOM (World Class Operations Management), TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Manufacturing Excellence, or Business Excellence (BEx) are desirable.
