Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and maintain IT and OT infrastructure solutions to support business and manufacturing operations.
  • Design and implement resilient networks, server environments, and cloud-based solutions.
  • Support/Lead infrastructure projects from planning through execution, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to drive efficiency and security improvements.
  • Provide 3rd-line support for complex technical issues across IT and OT systems.
  • Ensure maximum uptime of critical business and manufacturing systems.
  • Proactively monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot networks, servers, and security appliances.
  • Maintain strong disaster recovery and backup strategies to ensure business continuity.
  • Utilise the service management tool (e.g. ServiceNow) to record, update, and manage incidents.
  • Implement and maintain GxP-compliant IT infrastructure within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
  • Ensure CFR Part 11 and data integrity requirements are met across all IT/OT systems.
  • Implement cybersecurity best practices, including network segmentation, vulnerability patching, and Zero Trust principles.

Competencies:

  • Infrastructure & Virtualisation: Strong understanding of VMware vSphere 8+ / ESXi or Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003-2022, Windows Desktop 95-11, Basic Linux administration (Red Hat, Ubuntu)
  • Networking & Security: Cisco networking (LAN, WAN, VLANs, Routing & Switching), Enterprise Firewall technologies (PaloAlto, Cisco ASA, Watchguard or similar), Network segmentation and security (IT/OT best practices)
  • Backup & Disaster Recovery: Veeam Backup & Replication, Disaster recovery planning & high availability solutions
  • Database & Application Support: Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2000-2022) is advantageous, Oracle Database (various versions), PostgreSQL/MySQL (desirable)
  • General IT Expertise: Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, Storage solutions (SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI), Experience managing and maintaining HPE Synergy infrastructure/Nimble Storage technologies, Patch and vulnerability management
