Overview
The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for co-coordinating and leading the continuous improvement (CI) activities at the Grangemouth site, supporting the drive to operational excellence at Piramal Grangemouth. Utilising a data driven approach to prioritise and plan improvement projects, coordinate the end to end delivery of CI projects and acting as project lead in specific instances. Support the Leadership Team embed a CI culture within the business, supporting change management and introducing, facilitating and training out the use of the appropriate OE tools such as Lean Six Sigma, 6S and visual management.
Key Roles/Responsibilities
- Actively drive and implement a Continuous Improvement (CI) strategy, working with the Site Leadership Team and all functional stakeholders within the Piramal Pharma Solutions Grangemouth business.
- Execute Lean Six Sigma projects, leading teams to address business process problems and design new processes to achieve results, identifying short and long term actions and prioritising activities.
- Share best practices, engaging all employees and drive continuous improvement and standardisation across all organizational functions to achieve targets in growth, quality, and productivity.
- Establish and mature Continuous Improvement/ Operational Excellence and other tools for business transformation and continuous improvement, including Lean Six Sigma, 6S, GEMBA walks etc.
- Support site roadmap development detailing CI activities which will be executed in collaboration with the site/functional Leadership Team.
- Provide technical support for OEE improvement, and general site wide improvements.
- Coach employees to establish performance measurement systems and goals aligned with organizational objectives.
- Support the functional areas in the development of metrics that support CI and help drive change.
- Identify the training needed to support the ongoing deployment of OE tools in the business, developing in house training packages where appropriate and utilizing support from the Piramal network.
- Encourage a culture within functions of promoting 'Ideas to Excellence' to continuously improve functional and site performance.
- Be a champion of change at the Piramal Pharma Solutions Grangemouth site.
- Build networks and participate in Continuous Improvement Corporate initiatives within Piramal Pharma Solutions, businesses and external groups, ensuring the sharing and incorporation of best practice.

Qualifications
- Essential Qualifications: Degree in a scientific subject.
Essential Experience
- Formal lean training and comprehensive knowledge of Lean and continuous improvement methodologies and tools.
- Bioprocessing industry knowledge.
- Good working knowledge of GMP.
- Experience of implementing change using change control principles.
- Solid understanding of chemical unit operations.
- Experience of creating and updating SOPs.
- Excellent communication skills, including accomplished written, oral and presentation skills.
- Strong facilitation and organization.
- Champions Change.
- Promotes collaboration and teamwork.
- Minimum of Lean Six Sigma Green belt certified.
