The predicted salary is between 18000 - 25000 £ per year.
This will be a varied role, giving the individual an opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of construction initially within the Estimating and Commercial team, in order to develop a good product and technical background as well as develop their commercial acumen. We will provide all the necessary training and support to help develop them, with ongoing continuous professional development through in house and external training.
Liaise with the preconstruction manager, commercial and operations team to assist in taking a project from tender stage to contract.
Key Responsibilities- Logging tenders on ensuring that specification and programme information is noted.
- Ensure all the latest relevant documentation including drawings, specifications and scope is downloaded from client web portals, saved to the project folder electronically and printed relevant documents as required.
- Creating drawing registers specifically to the project.
- Produce working folders for estimators and ensure the filing system is up to date.
- To develop an understanding of the different pipework systems within the process and construction industry.
- Assist estimators with take-off and measures from drawings using estimating software.
- Assist with updating and maintaining companies estimating software database.
- Assist with gaining quotes for materials from suppliers and filling accordingly.
- Assist with preparing quotations for projects.
- Assist with company’s social media postings.
Later, there will be opportunities to progress within the team as an Apprentice Estimator or within other areas of the business including Pre-Construction, Engineering, Operations or Commercial.
Qualifications and Experience- Must fully meet the entry standards for the New City College Business Administration program.
- Preferred: Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Interest in construction/engineering.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Well presented.
