An international energy and infrastructure business is continuing to scale its European platform and is now looking to appoint a Senior Legal Counsel to support its expanding development portfolio across the UK and Western Europe. Operating at the forefront of the energy transition, the organisation delivers large-scale renewable energy, energy storage and data centre projects, combining strong financial backing with deep technical expertise. The business offers a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment with exposure to complex, cross-border projects and senior stakeholders.
The Role
You will provide senior-level legal support across the development lifecycle of renewable energy, BESS and data centre projects, with a particular focus on land, property rights and early-stage structuring.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing pragmatic legal advice to development teams across Western Europe
- Leading land and property structuring for new projects
- Identifying and mitigating legal and land-related risks early in the lifecycle
- Supporting acquisitions and development-stage transactions
- Working closely with internal teams across EPC, M&A and finance
- Managing external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
- Contributing to legal strategy, templates and best practice across the region
Requirements
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales
- Circa 7+ years’ PQE within renewable energy, infrastructure or complex real estate
- Strong grounding in property and land law (options, leases, easements, wayleaves, access rights)
- Experience supporting renewable energy or data centre developments
- Ability to operate across multi-jurisdictional matters with external counsel
- Commercial, pragmatic mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills
