We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join a leading defence focused organisation in Bristol. This is a hands-on role supporting key defence programmes, requiring strong knowledge of UK defence contracting frameworks and the ability to operate at pace in a complex delivery environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end commercial activities across defence contracts and programmes
  • Ensure compliance with SSCR (Single Source Contract Regulations)
  • Administer and negotiate DEFCONs within contractual agreements
  • Apply and interpret DEFSTANs across programme delivery
  • Lead procurement activities, including supplier negotiation and contract placement
  • Manage full Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), from bid through to close-out
  • Support risk, pricing, and commercial governance across projects
  • Work closely with delivery, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure contractual alignment
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships across internal and external partners

Key Requirements

  • Strong background in defence sector commercial / procurement roles
  • Proven experience working with SSCR, DEFCONs, and DEFSTANs
  • Experience in procurement and supplier negotiation
  • Understanding of Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) principles
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
