Piper Maddox is proud to be representing one of the world’s largest Power System providers to find a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer to join the team on a permanent basis. The role involves collaborating with the Engineering Manager to lead the design and testing of power systems for an ongoing Marine project. Responsibilities include managing the design and testing processes of electrical systems, ensuring seamless delivery across all project phases. This encompasses areas such as power system modelling, auxiliary systems, equipment and test specification, analysis of results, and comprehensive reporting. As a Lead Electrical Systems Engineer, you will: * Direct all activities related to power systems design and testing throughout the project’s lifecycle, including AC and DC system architecture, power generation and distribution, protection systems, energy storage, cabling, power conversion, and control systems. * Ensure the overall design aligns with customer requirements, contractual obligations, and regulatory standards. * Develop and uphold a quality control framework for engineering during project test phases. * Coordinate with various internal teams, including Service Engineering, Platform Engineering, Technology, Value Engineering, and Supply Chain, to ensure smooth project execution and business support. * Interface with external partners such as subcontractors, other businesses, and clients to ensure project goals are being met. Experience we are looking for: * Proven experience in Senior positions related to Electrical engineering, Power Electronics or Power Systems * Training or experience in project leadership for the development of high voltage power systems (ideally from a Marine, Aerospace, Renewable Energy or Automotive background). * Must be a sole UK national with a valid British passport. * A degree (or equivalent) in electrical, electronic, or control engineering, or a related discipline. Desirable Experience: * Experience with system integration in multidisciplinary projects.
