HSE Advisor – Solar PV & BESS
Contract | Competitive Daily Rate
UK Wide (Reading & Ipswich Initially)
A leading renewable energy developer is looking for a proactive and hands-on Health and Safety Advisor to support safe working practices across large-scale solar PV and BESS construction sites throughout the UK. This role will involve national travel and close collaboration with both office-based and site teams.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly experienced renewables firm with an extensive project pipeline and contribute to some of the UK’s largest clean energy developments.
The Role:
You will work closely with the Operations Director to ensure that all operational and construction activities are compliant with UK health and safety legislation.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular HSE site audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
- Supporting incident investigations and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Delivering guidance and training to internal teams and subcontractors.
- Maintaining and managing health and safety documentation and systems.
- Supporting compliance with CDM 2015 by helping to coordinate design risk reviews and safety plans.
- Assisting in the development of CTMPs, CEMPs, and H&S files.
- Liaising with project teams, designers, and contractors to mitigate design and construction risks.
Key Requirements:
- NEBOSH General Certificate (required); NEBOSH Construction or APS membership (preferred).
- Previous experience working on utility-scale solar PV construction sites (essential).
- Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015 and UK HSE legislation.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to travel nationwide as required.
