A leading international renewable energy consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced SAP Manager to support the delivery and management of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the UK and Europe. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business working across a broad portfolio of Solar PV and Onshore Wind projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing Senior Authorised Person activities across construction, commissioning, energisation and operational phases of projects, ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Act as SAP for HV electrical systems across renewable energy projects
- Manage switching operations, isolations and permit systems
- Support commissioning, energisation and grid connection activities
- Oversee and coordinate contractors during electrical works
- Ensure all works are carried out in line with health & safety procedures and industry regulations
- Review and approve switching schedules, RAMS and operational documentation
- Provide technical support across construction and operational phases
- Liaise with DNOs, ICPs, EPC contractors and project stakeholders
- Support fault finding and troubleshooting activities where required
- Previous experience working as an SAP within the renewable energy sector
- Strong experience across Solar PV and/or Onshore Wind projects
- Authorised experience on 33kV systems and above
- Experience working on multi-feed networks and complex switching operations
- Strong understanding of HV safety rules and electrical compliance standards
- Experience supporting commissioning and energisation activities
- Ability to work independently whilst managing multiple stakeholders
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites
- Experience working with DNOs and grid connection processes
- AP/SAP authorisations from major utilities or contractors
- HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Previous consultancy or owner’s engineer experience
