PLS Civil Engineering Ltd is an established civil engineering subcontractor delivering works for major Tier 1 contractors across the UK. Our projects demand high standards of safety, compliance and documentation, and we are looking for an experienced Health & Safety professional to support this.
Based at our Head Office in Shirebrook, this role will involve regular nationwide travel to sites to ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, client standards and industry best practice. You will work closely with operational teams to maintain safe systems of work across civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site health & safety inspections and compliance audits
- Ensure works are delivered in line with CDM Regulations and Tier 1 contractor standards
- Review, challenge and approve RAMS
- Support site teams with practical H&S advice
- Lead accident / incident investigations and produce reports
- Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails
- Liaise with Tier 1 contractor H&S teams and client representatives
- Monitor compliance performance and identify improvement areas
Essential Requirements
- NEBOSH Certificate (General or Construction)
- IOSH qualification
- Proven construction sector experience
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractor standards
- Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and HSE legislation
- Experience conducting site inspections and audits
- Confident communicator able to challenge unsafe practices
- Full UK Driving Licence
