Role Purpose: To deliver specialist advice and services to utilities and infrastructure clients, delivering tasks and/or schemes to a high standard and ensuring team and client objectives are met. To contribute to the delivery of company business plan goals whilst engendering a positive attitude within the workplace.
Key Activities:
- Manage liaison activities with clients, contractors, landowners, farmers, occupiers and other stakeholders in support of client objectives. Activities likely to include arranging access to private land, serving notices, obtaining agreements/consents, evidencing condition of land before entry, advising and agreeing reinstatement of land and dealing with agricultural loss claims.
- Ensure the team proactively engages with landowners and occupiers on site as required, showing empathy and employing tact, diplomacy and negotiating skills to meet objectives whilst maintaining positive relationships and projecting a professional image of the client and DM.
- Work closely with the project team(s), often operating from project/client (site) offices.
- Ensure all parties are kept updated and report on requirements by working closely with key stakeholders and their subcontractors, providing client updates through IT systems and meetings.
- Ensure good record keeping in the team, including meeting notes and comprehensive file updates and records of activities to monitor and review progress, provide regular client updates and ensure accurate billing.
- Support the development of graduates and other future talent employees in own area of responsibility and provide constructive line management to own direct reports, engaging in regular progress review and feedback meetings and delegating tasks effectively.
- Provide the wider sector team with ad hoc assistance on other projects and schemes and support team and wider business development, reinforce company protocols and processes, assist in identifying areas of new work and look for opportunities to cross-sell wider company services.
- Participate in and support company groups, initiatives, events and social activities and embrace DM’s values, engendering a positive attitude within the workplace.
- Maintain and improve own knowledge and skills via company run and wider CPD.
- Carry out work in compliance with relevant legal, regulatory, contractual and organisational requirements and policies.
