We’re looking for a General Manager for a popular community pub. Salary up to £48k plus bonus and a generous benefits package. Marston’s is one of the UK’s largest and most beloved pub chains and today, we operate more than 1,300 pubs, bars and hotels. Now, we’re on the lookout for a great General Manager to take charge at the Pipe Major, Dagenham and lead the team to success!

The Pipe Major sits in a fantastic spot — just moments from Dagenham town centre and a 2 minute walk from the tube station. With Dagenham Football Stadium only a 5 minute stroll away, plus a Travelodge next door and a growing hub of new businesses surrounding the pub, this site already benefits from strong footfall and a vibrant local community. In early 2025, the Pipe Major underwent a transformational £250,000 Capex investment, becoming one of the first pubs to launch our brand-new Two Door format. This presents a brilliant chance for an ambitious operator to shape the future of this concept and leave their mark on a flagship community venue. Our Two Door pubs bring together the best of both worlds — a welcoming, family-friendly dining experience alongside a lively, traditional pub atmosphere.

Currently delivering £33k average weekly sales with a 55/45 dry-to-wet sales mix, the Pipe Major is already a strong trading business — with huge potential still to unlock. This is an exceptional opportunity to take on a site with investment, vision, and community at its heart. Management accommodation is available in the form of a large 3-bedroom flat above the pub.
