Basic Skills required:

• Read technical drawings and various other specs and verbal instructions to execute machining and forming requirements
• Familiar with programming CNC machines Heidenhain & Mazatrol systems
• Familiar with DRO interfaces
• Familiar with machining techniques
• Use of appropriate cutting tools for material and machine type
• Familiar with commonly used Quality Management processes

Duties and responsibilities

• Operating various milling machines, turning machines and boring machines
• Use of accurate measuring tools and devices
• Use of measuring equipment, basic mathematical skills to work out needed dimensions
• Basic record keeping, to allow traceability
• Basic maintenance machinery employed
• Knowledge of material behaviour during machining
• Correct materials selection
• Safe working practice knowledge for type of operation
• Forklift truck operations
