You will be joining a successful business where you will have genuine exposure to customers, markets and commercial opportunities, with plenty of scope to develop your skills and progress your career. Working alongside the Business Development Manager, you will help identify new opportunities, nurture existing relationships and turn conversations and enquiries into successful sales.

What you will be doing:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities across target markets.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with both new and existing customers.
  • Follow up enquiries and quotations to maximise sales opportunities.
  • Manage leads, customer information and sales activity through the CRM.
  • Make customer calls, attend meetings and carry out occasional site visits.
  • Support marketing campaigns, promotions and lead-generation activity.
  • Represent the business at exhibitions, trade shows and networking events.
  • Keep up to date with market trends, customer needs and competitor activity.
  • Prepare sales reports and contribute to business development plans.
  • Work closely with Sales, Marketing and Operations to deliver results.

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone who is commercially minded, confident and hungry to succeed. You do not need to know everything on day one; enthusiasm, relationship-building skills and a genuine desire to develop are key.

You will ideally bring:

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, account management or business development.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A proactive, positive and resilient approach.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
  • An interest in manufacturing, engineering, height safety or lifting equipment would be advantageous.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A-Level, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification would be beneficial.
  • Any experience or personal interest in height safety or lifting equipment would be a bonus.
  • Additional language skills would be advantageous.

Why join?

This isn’t simply a sales role; it’s an opportunity to build a career in business development within a specialist manufacturing environment.

You will benefit from:

  • £40,000–£45,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
  • OTE earning potential.
  • Car allowance or company car.
  • Ongoing training and professional development.
  • Exposure to customers across a range of industries.
  • Opportunities to attend exhibitions, networking events and industry events.
  • A supportive team environment.
  • Genuine opportunities for career progression.

Ready to make your mark? If you are ambitious, personable and commercially driven, and you are looking for a role where you can develop your sales career while working in a specialist and growing industry, we would love to hear from you.
