This is an exciting new opportunity to join a high growth environment as part of a newly formed finance team. Offering high levels of autonomy and growth, this is a varied role where your skillset both around management accounts and the more commercial side of finance will be highly valued.
My client are an SME with huge growth plans on the horizon, expanding their reach into new specialisms. With a newly formed finance team, backed by significant investment, they are now looking to add an extra head into the team to support with the setting up of financial reporting and controls, acting as number 2 to the Financial Controller.
As Senior Management Accountant, you will have a strong background in management accounts but ideally, will also have had some exposure to the more commercial side of finance as part of a varied role with an SME environment. You will have responsibility for:
- Delivering financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership, leading reporting, budgeting and forecasting efforts, and ensuring alignment between financial goals and overall business objectives
- Working with and guiding a small team to develop processes and improve reporting accuracy
- Preparing and delivering detailed management reports for multiple companies and departments, including variance analysis, KPIs, and dashboard metrics
- Collaborating with business units to optimise financial outcomes and drive accountability
- Providing financial insights to support business growth, profitability, and operational efficiency
- Analysing financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities
Profile:
- Demonstrable experience in management accounts/ commercial finance/ financial planning and analysis
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA - Qualified
- Experience of operating effectively in both SME/high growth environments
- A track record of making positive commercial impact on businesses
- Highly developed understanding of financial/management accounting practices
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
