Freelance Surveyor – Damp and Timber / East London and Surrounds / £80 Per Approved Survey
Our client is an independent specialist in the Damp and Timber field are seeking an experienced and motivated Freelance Damp and Timber Surveyor to conduct surveys across London. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically skilled surveyor with strong sales ability to play a key role in both diagnosing issues and converting opportunities into work.
What’s On Offer?
- Competitive rate of £80 per survey completed.
- Mileage paid at £0.30 mile
- Starting at around 2 + surveys per day
- The successful candidate will need to have capacity for at least 10 surveys per week.
Key Responsibilities of the Freelance Damp and Timber Surveyor:
- Conducting full property damp assessments as specified by the client.
- Preparing and submitting detailed survey reports in accordance with company standards.
- Contacting customers and booking surveys within 48 hours of being assigned a lead in their portal.
- Representing the client professionally during client interactions.
- Perform surveys to a high professional standard and in compliance with the guidelines provided by our client.
- Submit all completed reports on the same day as the survey is conducted.
- Contact customers and book surveys within 48 hours of being assigned a lead.
- Notify the admin team of any issues with equipment or necessary repairs.
- Personally maintain the tools and equipment, ensuring readiness for each survey.
- Replace or cover the cost of lost or damaged equipment, subject to deductions from payment.
- Make their own bookings directly with customers.
Skills and Experience Required:
- CSTDB (Certificated Surveyor of Timber & Dampness in Buildings)
- Proven experience in damp and timber surveying
- Excellent communication is key as the successful candidate will be liaising with estate agents, property managers and clients directly for dates/times.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Own surveying equipment preferred but this can be supplied in exceptional circumstances for the right candidate.
