Pioneer Talent is proud to be partnering with a values-led care provider to recruit an Area Manager to join their leadership team, supporting both Residential and Supported Living services.
As a lead operator responsible for a team of Registered Managers across a geographical area, you'll ensure services meet the Health & Social Care Act 2008, the Care Act 2014, CQC requirements and all other relevant legislation β while delivering a need-led, person-centred service to adults with learning disabilities that fosters self-awareness, personal growth and gives each person the strongest possible voice in their own decisions and lifestyle choices.
The role:
- Coach, lead and develop a high-performing, engaged team of Registered Managers
- Ensure all services operate in line with company standards, policies and procedures to deliver the highest standards of support
- Provide regular supervision and annual appraisals to Managers
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and assurance, embedding ownership, accountability, innovation and problem-solving
- Ensure regular meetings take place across services (Managers, Team Leaders, Support Workers and service users)
- Identify recruitment needs and work with HR on recruitment and retention aligned to core values
- Develop an annual performance and service plan for your area, with clear objectives and measures
- Lead on people management and employee relations, including investigations and chairing formal meetings
- Take part in the senior on-call system, including business contingency planning
- Act as a role-model leader, demonstrating trust, honesty and integrity
About you:
- NVQ 4 in Health & Social Care or Leadership & Management, or a Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care
- 2+ years' experience managing services in a residential or supported living environment, including financial planning / P&L
- 4+ years' recent, significant experience working with adults with learning disabilities
- Experience working in partnership with health, local authority and CQC
- Experience leading and chairing management and disciplinary investigation meetings
- A track record of managing budgets and effective management-level teams
- Experience of specific conditions (e.g. epilepsy, autism)
- Experience of delivering training and mentoring staff
- The ability to lead and inspire staff at all levels, and to resolve crises and complex issues with timely outcomes
