Shift Pattern: Panama Shift – 7am–7pm / 7pm–7am (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off)
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to join a high-performing engineering function within a heavy process manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on leadership role (approximately 60–70% hands-on / 30–40% management), combining technical expertise with people leadership. You will be responsible for leading 4 Shift Engineers, along with an additional 2 Day Engineers when working day shifts, ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of site assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the day-to-day workload of the engineering team
- Plan and schedule proactive and reactive maintenance via CMMS (AGILITY)
- Delegate work effectively, ensuring resources are aligned to site priorities
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and engineering best practice
- Provide leadership, coaching and technical support to the team
- Manage contractors and oversee on-site engineering activities
- Monitor performance against KPIs and escalate issues where required
- Participate in the call-out rota and respond to emergency breakdowns
- Support planned shutdowns and improvement projects
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and compliance at all times
Candidate Profile
- Strong background in multi-skilled engineering within manufacturing
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience
- Hands-on, solutions-focused approach
- Experience in FMCG, food, beverage or heavy process environments preferred
- Strong commitment to health and safety
