The Role

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of mechanical plant and equipment in a busy operational environment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Mechanical fault finding and breakdown repair on heavy plant and machinery
  • Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) to ensure equipment reliability
  • Maintenance of bearings, chains, gearboxes, drives, motors, rollers and hydraulics
  • Welding, fabrication, and mechanical fitting where required
  • Supporting safe operation through inspections and remedial works
  • Working closely with operations to minimise downtime
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety standards

Shift Pattern

  • 45-hour working week
  • Any 5 days over 7 (rota-based)
  • Mix of weekdays and weekends
  • Consistent hours with predictable scheduling

Salary & Benefits

  • £35,000 – £40,000 basic salary (dependent on experience)
