We are currently recruiting for a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a well-established manufacturing site with strong investment plans and clear opportunities for progression. This role would suit a hands-on engineer with strong electrical fault-finding skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and wants long-term career development.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will provide electrical and mechanical planned and reactive maintenance support across a wide range of production equipment. You will play a key role in improving plant reliability, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and working closely with operations to minimise downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Reactive and planned maintenance across the site to ensure safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment
- Electrical fault finding on PLC-controlled systems, motors, drives (AC/DC), inverters, servo drives, and single/three-phase supplies
- Mechanical maintenance including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, shafts, pulleys, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Working to PM schedules and monitoring equipment performance (OEE, downtime analysis)
- Proactive fault prevention and continuous improvement activities
- Use of a CMMS to record maintenance activities and support asset management
- Identification and management of critical spares
- Coaching and supporting operators with basic asset care
- Supporting project work, installations, and improvement initiatives
Equipment You'll Work On
- High-speed automated production machinery

- Boilers, compressors, and steam systems
- Large-scale manufacturing and processing equipment
What We're Looking For
- Electrically biased Maintenance Engineer (approx. 60–70% electrical)
- Level 3 Electrical qualification minimum (apprentice trained preferred)
- At least 5 years' experience in a manufacturing or factory environment
- Strong PLC fault-finding skills (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley preferred)
- Able to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
- Confident working independently and as part of a team
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability
- Good communication skills and a professional approach
- Stability in employment (not a job hopper)
Shift Pattern
Rotating shifts (early, late, nights – weekdays only). No contracted weekends. Paid overtime available. Holiday cover paid at enhanced rates.
Package
Salary: £50,000. Pension with employer contribution and matching. 25 days holiday + bank holidays. Annual salary review. Additional benefits including wellbeing schemes.
