We are seeking a Workshop Team Leader to oversee day-to-day operations within a busy materials handling workshop. Leading a small team of engineers, you will ensure efficient maintenance, service and repair of a variety of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), while upholding high standards of performance and safety.
Key Responsibilities of the Workshop Team Leader:
- Lead, support and mentor workshop engineers to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality outputs
- Oversee reactive and planned maintenance activities across a range of MHE
- Conduct fault diagnosis and provide guidance on effective repair solutions
- Manage daily workload, prioritising tasks to minimise downtime
- Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to all health & safety procedures
Key Requirements for Workshop Team Leader:
- Strong mechanical background in forklifts, automotive, plant or similar sectors
- Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
- Previous experience in a workshop-based role, ideally with leadership or mentoring responsibilities
- Confident communicator with excellent problem-solving skills
Ideal Backgrounds:
- FLT or MHE engineering experience
- Automotive or vehicle mechanics
- Ex-Forces with mechanical and supervisory experience
