An established industrial manufacturing site in Inverness is looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support site operations across a modern, high-capacity production facility. This is a days-based role offering strong earning potential through a structured on-call rota and overtime. You will be part of a skilled engineering team, responsible for maintaining plant reliability, responding to breakdowns, and supporting continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdowns
  • Fault-find and repair mechanical systems and production equipment
  • Work on bearings, belts, chains, drives, and rotating machinery
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
  • Carry out inspections to ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently
  • Work closely with production to minimise downtime
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety and site procedures
  • Complete maintenance records and reports accurately

About You

  • Qualified Mechanical Engineer (apprenticeship or relevant mechanical qualification)
  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and breakdown skills
  • Able to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and proactive in approach
  • Comfortable participating in an on-call rota
