I am currently working with a large, market-leading FMCG manufacturer, operating with state-of-the-art, highly automated production facilities, to recruit an experienced Project Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that continues to invest heavily in capital engineering projects, automation, and continuous improvement. The successful Project Engineer will take ownership of site-based capital projects with budgets, ensuring delivery to the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

As a Project Engineer, you will work closely with engineering and operational management teams to define project scope, objectives, and performance standards in line with company policies. You will manage projects from initial concept through to implementation and handover, taking full accountability for timelines, cost control, and technical delivery.

Key Responsibilities - Project Engineer:
  • Lead site-based capital engineering projects with a strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and delivery to ensure completion on time and within budget
  • Provide regular project updates, tracking progress against key milestones
  • Plan and coordinate resources, including labour, equipment, and materials
  • Maintain clear communication with stakeholders, managing changes to scope, cost, and timelines
  • Ensure full HSE compliance, including contractor management, and deliver projects to specification with successful handover to operations
Essential Requirements - Project Engineer:
  • Proven experience leading engineering projects from concept through to implementation
  • Engineering qualification and/or project management qualification
  • Manufacturing background, ideally within FMCG
  • Strong understanding of capital project management, budgeting, and scheduling
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
