We’re looking for a CAD Design Engineer to join a growing design team at one of the UK’s largest and most advanced extrusion plants. This is an excellent opportunity for a junior or graduate-level candidate to start their engineering career with a forward-thinking and well-established company offering full training and development.
The Role:
As a CAD Design Engineer, you’ll be responsible for producing 2D and 3D technical drawings to support both internal manufacturing processes and customer requirements. You’ll collaborate closely with production, engineering, and die tooling teams while also engaging directly with customers to ensure profile designs are optimised and functional.
Create 2D and 3D fabrication and extrusion drawings
Support customer design and application queries
Liaise with production and die tool departments
Interpret engineering drawings and principles
Obtain supplier and subcontractor quotations
Work in line with internal quality procedures
What We\’re Looking For:
Familiarity with AutoCAD or other 2D CAD software
3D CAD modelling (Inventor or similar) – desirable
Good understanding of engineering principles
Awareness of plant and manufacturing processes
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
A proactive and motivated attitude
No specific qualifications required – applicants from all backgrounds are welcome, including recent graduates.
