A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established food manufacturing business with a strong reputation across the UK retail and catering sectors. This fast-paced production site manufactures mayonnaise, pasta sauces, chutneys, salad dressings and pastes for major retailers including Tesco, Lidl, Asda and Morrisons. The business has invested heavily into its manufacturing operation, operating multiple bottling lines, cooking vessels and automated production equipment. This role is ideal for an engineer looking to work within a busy and supportive engineering team where no two days are the same.

You will be responsible for both electrical and mechanical maintenance, responding to breakdowns, completing planned preventative maintenance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across site machinery.

Non‑Negotiable Requirements:
  • Multi-skilled maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Engineering qualification – minimum City & Guilds qualification
Desirable Requirements:
  • Food manufacturing experience
  • PLC fault-finding experience
  • Experience with motors, drives and automated production machinery
  • Previous experience working within the UK manufacturing sector
Duties:
  • General maintenance across all manufacturing equipment
  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repairs
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance routines
  • Installation and commissioning of new equipment
  • Supporting project work and continuous improvement activities
  • Maintaining engineering workshop equipment and services
  • Conducting regular factory inspections and reporting defects
  • Training production staff on equipment operation and basic maintenance
  • Maintaining maintenance records and engineering documentation using CMMS systems
