A days‑based opportunity has become available for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a fast‑paced, heavy industrial manufacturing site. This is a hands‑on role within a physically demanding environment, working on large‑scale plant and conveyor systems where reliability is critical to production.
The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance, ensuring equipment is running safely and efficiently at all times. The role involves working on conveyors and associated machinery, carrying out routine maintenance such as lubrication, and supporting the installation and setup of blades to high tolerance standards. You will also play a key role in reducing downtime, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and working closely with operations to keep production running smoothly.

Non‑Negotiable Requirements- Mechanical Bias Engineering Apprenticeship or Relevant Experience
- Engineering Qualification
- Manufacturing / Factory Background
- Strong experience working on conveyors
- Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance
- Strong mechanical fault finding skills
- Experience with plant equipment, bearings, belts and chains
- Ability to work as part of a multi‑skilled engineering team
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to complete maintenance documentation accurately
- Proactive approach to health & safety and housekeeping
- Physically fit and able to work in a demanding environment
- Comfortable working at heights
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Background within Food, FMCG, Agricultural or Heavy Industrial environments
- Salary £38,000 – £39,000
- Monday to Friday days role
