Vehicle Fitter (Vehicle Technician)
Location: Matlock, Derbyshire
Salary: £44,000 (OTE £50,000+)
Shift: Monday – Friday (Early Shift) 6:00am – 2:00pm
Job Role
A great opportunity has become available for a Vehicle Fitter / Vehicle Technician to join a busy industrial site, working as part of a team within a well‑equipped workshop environment.
You will be responsible for inspecting, servicing and repairing a range of vehicles and site equipment to ensure they are safe, reliable and ready to return to operation with minimal downtime.
This role will involve maintenance and repair of: front loaders, forklift trucks and other plant machinery.
Non‑Negotiable Requirements
- Experience in a similar role (Vehicle Technician / HGV Technician / Plant Technician / Mechanical Fitter background considered).
- Hands‑on experience carrying out reactive repairs and planned servicing/maintenance in a workshop environment.
- Strong mechanical fault‑finding and repair ability.
- Ability to carry out routine servicing and preventative checks (including greasing and antifreeze checks).
- Able to order parts when required and maintain stock/parts levels.
- Confident keeping accurate records of repairs and servicing.
- Committed to working safely and following all H&S / environmental procedures.
