Salary: £48,375 per annum
Shift: 11:00pm – 7:00am | 40 hours per week

Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for a new challenge within a fast-paced manufacturing environment?
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a skilled Shift Engineer to join an established and successful manufacturing business in Thatcham. Working as part of the engineering team, you’ll play a key role in keeping a high-volume production site running safely, efficiently and reliably.
You’ll be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding, repairs and engineering improvements across a wide range of modern production and packaging equipment.
This is a hands-on role where your mechanical and electrical expertise will directly contribute to reducing downtime, improving equipment reliability and keeping production moving.
The Role
As a Shift Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across site machinery and equipment.
- Responding to breakdowns and carrying out effective fault finding and repairs.
- Diagnosing both mechanical and electrical faults.
- Supporting the reliability and continuous improvement of production equipment.
- Working across multiple production lines, B2B vessels and cooking vessels.
- Ensuring maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Supporting engineering projects and equipment improvements.
- Maintaining accurate engineering records and documentation.
- Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise output.
Sector: ManufacturingWhat We're Looking For
Essential:
- Experience as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer / Shift Engineer.
- A recognised engineering qualification such as City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
Desirable:
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience working with automated production lines.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and engineering improvement projects.
- Experience using CMMS systems and completing engineering documentation.
