Quality Controller Food Production

Pontefract, West Yorkshire

Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (occasional Saturdays & longer shifts up to 12 hours may be required)

Salary: GBP25,000 - GBP27,000 per annum

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role:

We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Controller to join a thriving food production team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a modern, fast-paced facility that supplies pre-prepared meat products to some of the UK’s best-known supermarket and meal kit brands. You’ll play a key part in upholding quality and safety standards, ensuring every product meets precise customer and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular quality checks on raw materials, intermediate, and finished products
  • Conduct label verification and air temperature monitoring
  • Calibrate equipment, including scales and temperature probes
  • Collect and prepare samples for lab analysis, including equine testing
  • Carry out internal audits (e.g., black bag audits)
  • Report and resolve quality concerns in line with company procedures
  • Support the Quality Assurance team as business needs evolve
