Location:

Salary: £51,075 – £56,750 DOE (inclusive of allowances) + Bonus + Benefits

Employment Type: Permanent | Full-Time | Monday to Friday (08:00–16:30)

On-Call: 1 in 5 weeks (allowance paid)

We are recruiting for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a major new facility in its commissioning phase. This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a high-performing team at a newly constructed site that will be operational by mid-2025. This role offers the chance to make a lasting impact, with access to brand-new systems, equipment still under warranty, and significant scope for long-term development and progression.

Your Role:

  • Delivering planned, preventative, and reactive mechanical maintenance across the entire site.
  • Supporting the commissioning, shutdown, and optimisation of systems.
  • Working closely with equipment suppliers and third-party contractors.
  • Assisting in the development and mentoring of apprentices and junior technicians.

Equipment & Systems You’ll Work On:

  • Large mechanical plant systems
  • Pumps, valves, and hydraulics
  • Pneumatics and alignment tools
  • Power transmission and rotating machinery

What You’ll Need:

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (or significant relevant experience).
  • Strong background in heavy engineering environments (e.g. large plant, utilities, forces, power, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a 24/7 team operation (Mon–Fri with on-call rotation).
  • Comfortable working with OEM partners and adapting to evolving site operations.

  • Base Salary: £45,000 – £50,000
  • On-call Allowance: +6%
  • Annual Performance Bonus: Up to 2.5%
  • Holidays: 25 days, increasing to 31 with service + your birthday off
