About the Role
A large FMCG manufacturing operation based near Wrexham is undergoing a major expansion, creating over 100 new roles. We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support a high-volume processing facility, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced production environment. This role requires a hands-on, multi-skilled engineer with strong electrical and mechanical capability to support continuous operations.
Key Responsibilities for the Maintenance Engineer
- Provide multi-skilled maintenance support (electrical and mechanical) during assigned shifts
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance using the site CMMS
- Fault find and repair electrical and mechanical systems, including drives, motors, and PLC I/O
- Support production start-ups and minimise equipment downtime
- Contribute to continuous improvement activities and engineering projects
- Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, animal welfare, and Health & Safety standards
- Support and coach machine minders and production operators while on shift
- Escalate technical issues appropriately to the Shift Engineering Team Leader
Skills & Experience Required for the Maintenance Engineer
- Multi-skilled engineer with a 60/40 electrical or mechanical bias
- Level 3 Engineering qualification (or equivalent)
- Background in a manufacturing or processing environment
- Strong fault-finding ability on automated production equipment
- Comfortable working in a shift-based, high-volume operation
