Job Role of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer

You will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance, fault-finding, planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown maintenance across a range of production machinery and automated equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and efficiency.
You will also have the opportunity to work on electrical control systems, motors, sensors, drives, PLC-controlled machinery and control panels, whilst supporting ongoing engineering improvements across the site.

Non-Negotiable Requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
- Electrical maintenance experience within an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with planned, reactive and breakdown maintenance in a fast-paced factory environment.
- Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic experience.
- Recognised electrical engineering qualification.
Requirements for the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
- Hands-on electrical fault-finding experience.
- Experience working with industrial production machinery.
- Experience with motors, sensors, contactors, relays, inverters/VSDs and control panels.
- Experience working with PLC-controlled equipment and electrical control systems.
- Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance.
- Recognised electrical engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or equivalent.
- Experience working within a manufacturing, FMCG, food production or similar industrial environment.
- Good understanding of electrical safety and safe isolation procedures.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
Desirable Requirements of the Electrical Maintenance Engineer
- Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer in the UK.
- Previous experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.
- PLC fault-finding experience.
- Experience with continuous improvement and root-cause analysis.
- Mechanical maintenance experience would be advantageous.
