A fixed-term contract (14 months) opportunity has opened for a hands-on Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a secure and established production facility as part of a growing team. This role supports major production projects, with the strong likelihood of extension or transition to permanent employment.
You will be part of a fast-paced, high-security environment focused on delivering high-precision print and packaging operations. This is ideal for a skilled engineer with a mechanical or electrical bias looking for a challenging and rewarding role in a technically complex setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform planned and reactive maintenance on production and packaging equipment
- Support the installation, commissioning, and handover of new machinery
- Diagnose faults and deliver quick, effective repairs to minimise downtime
- Lead and contribute to continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Analyse machine data and breakdown trends to drive OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness)
- Maintain accurate maintenance records using a CMMS system
- Ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Offer technical support and contribute to staff training when required
- Collaborate with the wider engineering and operations teams to enhance asset performance
- Multi-skilled engineer with either mechanical or electrical bias
- NVQ Level 3 in Engineering or equivalent (HNC desirable)
- Experience working on hydraulic presses, printing presses, or similar complex machinery
- Comfortable with mechanical systems: bearings, belts, chains, control panels, contactors, etc.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and troubleshoot effectively
- Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Must be able to pass in-depth security clearance (5-year UK footprint essential)
