About the Role
As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and performance of production equipment across both the factory. This is a hands-on, varied role where your skills will be fully utilised - reducing downtime, improving repair times, and enhancing overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
Key Responsibilities for the maintenance engineer:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and improvement activities.
- Supporting and commissioning new equipment and projects.
- Using CMMS systems to plan, record, and manage maintenance tasks.
- Accurately reporting and documenting all maintenance activities.
- Conducting root cause analysis (RCA) and implementing long-term corrective actions.
- Supporting operator cross-skilling (e.g., lubrication, inspections, changeovers, minor repairs).
- Managing spare parts, conducting criticality and obsolescence reviews, and streamlining stock control.
- Contributing to continuous improvement (CI) initiatives using tools such as 5S, TPM, Asset Management, and Kaizen.
- Preparing weekly and monthly performance reports.
About the maintenance engineer:
- A qualified Multiskilled Engineer, ideally with an electrical bias.
- Competent with fault finding, repair, and maintenance on electrical systems and controls.
- Comfortable with basic mechanical tasks, including changing belts, bearings, and using hand tools.
- Experienced in manufacturing or process environments, with a focus on reliability and safety.
- Analytical, proactive, and motivated to drive continuous improvement.
