EC&I Technician Location: Nottingham Salary: £46,000 – £52,000 (DOE) + On-Call Allowance (£1,700–£3,000) + 12% Quarterly Bonus Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:00pm, Friday 7:30am–2:00pm Type: Permanent, Full-Time An excellent opportunity has arisen for a multi-skilled EC&I Technician to join a leading Energy from Waste (EfW) facility in Nottingham. This site processes over 160,000 tonnes of non-hazardous waste annually, converting it into energy and heat for the local area. This is a hands-on, varied role working as part of a small maintenance team within a heavy industrial environment. The successful candidate will be involved in both planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repair across a wide range of electrical, control, and instrumentation systems. The Role: Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical, control, and instrumentation systems. Fault finding and repair across a range of plant including: Cranes, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics. Compressors, motors, steam systems, and power generation equipment. Calibrate and maintain instrumentation using Beamex (training can be provided). Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures. Participate in a 1-in-3/4/5 week on-call rota, with paid bonuses and overtime. Support continuous improvement initiatives and plant upgrades. About You: Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering. Minimum Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. Ideally multi-skilled with approximately 70/30 electrical bias. Experience in heavy industrial environments such as power generation, EfW, petrochemical, marine, or similar. Knowledge of Beamex calibration systems (desirable). 17th or 18th Edition qualification (desirable). Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Proactive, safety-conscious, and hands-on approach to maintenance work.
