A well-established FMCG manufacturing business operating a processing facility near Wrexham is undertaking a major recruitment drive, with over 100 new roles being created next year. As part of this growth, we are seeking an experienced Engineering Shift Team Leader to join the site's engineering function. This is a key leadership position within a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment, offering the opportunity to lead a skilled engineering team and support critical production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the engineering shift team and act as site engineering lead in the absence of the Engineering Manager
- Plan, prioritise and allocate engineering work to support production requirements
- Oversee planned and reactive maintenance through the CMMS
- Drive KPI performance, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Coach, train, and performance-manage engineers on shift
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, GMP, food safety, environmental, and animal welfare standards
- Liaise closely with operations to align engineering support with site needs
- Manage contractors, permits to work, and shift resources
- Support audits, NCRs, and compliance-related activities
About The Role:
- Multi-skilled engineer (60/40 bias either mechanical or electrical)
- Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent
- Background in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing preferred)
- Proven leadership or supervisory experience within engineering
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Continuous improvement mindset
