Solution Architect urgently needed for a major insurance customer.

We are supporting a major insurance transformation programme that is reshaping a core claims platform and require an experienced Solution Architect to play a pivotal role in defining the future-state technology landscape.

This is a highly visible position where you'll bridge the gap between business strategy and technical delivery, taking ownership of architecture design activities that will enable development teams to begin a significant build phase.

*This role will require a background in Insurance Industry - only candidates with the relevant experience will be considered.*

Role

You’ll join a large-scale Agile transformation programme focused on modernising a complex claims environment.

Working closely with senior business stakeholders, Business Analysts, architects and engineering teams, you’ll be responsible for turning business requirements into robust, scalable solution designs across a Microsoft-centric ecosystem.

The programme is currently evolving from a legacy platform landscape and moving towards a modern architecture leveraging Microsoft Dynamics, Azure services and Databricks.

The successful architect will help shape the technical design and ensure the development teams are positioned for successful delivery.

This role demands someone who can operate comfortably at both the business and technical levels and equally capable of leading design workshops with senior stakeholders and producing high-quality architectural artefacts for engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and develop high-level and solution architecture designs across a major claims transformation initiative.
  • Translate business requirements into end-to-end technology solutions.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts to ensure requirements are architecturally aligned and delivery-ready.
  • Lead stakeholder discussions and secure buy-in across business and technology teams.
  • Define integration, application and platform architectures within a Microsoft environment.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure designs can be implemented effectively.
  • Identify risks, dependencies and architectural gaps before development commences.
  • Support Agile delivery teams with ongoing architectural governance and guidance.
  • Proven track record as a Solution Architect delivering complex enterprise transformation programmes.
  • MUST have Insurance industry background
  • Strong experience across Microsoft Dynamics 365 and wider Microsoft technology stacks.
  • Deep knowledge of Azure architecture, integration patterns and cloud-native solutions.
  • Experience producing and socialising high-level design documentation for both business and technical audiences.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior business leaders, Business Analysts and technical teams.
  • Experience operating within Agile delivery environments.
  • Background in regulated industries, ideally financial services or insurance.
  • Experience delivering claims technology modernisation or replacement programmes.
  • Knowledge of policy administration, underwriting or adjacent insurance domains.
  • Exposure to Azure Databricks and modern data platforms.
  • Experience working with legacy platform migrations and modernisation initiatives.
