Role Overview
The organisation has a growing Data Governance framework but is looking for an experienced Senior Data Governance Analyst to help mature and embed it across the business.
This is a hands-on role combining Data Governance, Data Quality, Reference Data Management and stakeholder engagement.
The successful candidate will have delivered similar Data Governance roles within the insurance or specialist insurance market and will be comfortable working with Data Owners, Data Stewards, SMEs and senior stakeholders to improve governance, accountability and adoption across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Mature and embed the existing Data Governance framework, including ownership, stewardship, standards and governance processes.
- Take hands-on ownership of Reference Data Management, including data requests, mappings, hierarchies, classifications and data issue resolution.
- Lead and improve the Data Council forums, increasing engagement, participation and awareness of Data Governance across the business.
- Work with Data Owners, Stewards, Product Owners and SMEs to improve accountability and embed governance practices into BAU.
- Identify and deliver improvements across data quality, processes, user experience and Reference Data Management.
- Produce governance documentation, training materials and communications to support the Data Strategy and wider adoption of governance practices.
- Key Requirements
- Proven Data Governance experience within insurance or specialist insurance, ideally having delivered similar governance and data maturity initiatives.
- Strong hands-on experience across Data Governance, Data Quality and/or Reference Data Management.
- Experience maturing governance frameworks and improving data ownership, stewardship and accountability across a business.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage Data Owners, Stewards, SMEs and senior stakeholders and improve adoption.
- Strong analytical and process improvement skills, with experience investigating data issues and driving resolution.
- Experience with data management platforms such as Ataccama, or similar tools, would be advantageous.
