An experienced IT Infrastructure (2nd Line) Support Manager, with a service orientated mindset is required for a leading London Market Insurer, based in the City of London. Are you ready to take ownership of a high-performing IT team and bridge the gap between exceptional service and technical expertise? Within this brand-new role, you will be responsible for a team of talented professionals while driving forward innovative solutions. You'll oversee all IT operations, ensuring the seamless performance of server, Microsoft, Azure Cloud, and networking infrastructure.

The role:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop the 2nd Line Support Team to deliver excellent service.
  • Act as an escalation point for resolving complex issues and bridging the gap between the Service Desk and Engineering teams.
  • Drive service improvements and implement efficient workflows to achieve targets.
  • Schedule and conduct quarterly performance reviews.
  • Partner with stakeholders to support the delivery of the IT Infrastructure roadmap and identify growth opportunities.
  • Foster a service-oriented culture while implementing small changes via the change management process.

Required experience and certifications:

  • Proven experience managing 2nd/3rd Line Support Teams across diverse technical areas.
  • Expertise in Wintel virtualization, VMWare, Azure Cloud operations, and network security infrastructure (Checkpoint, Cisco Meraki SD-WAN).
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows Server and desktop operating systems, with experience in scripting languages like PowerShell.
  • Familiarity with ITSM ticketing systems and the ability to ensure SLA compliance.
  • Certifications: VMWare, Citrix, Microsoft, ITIL Foundation, or Cisco/Checkpoint Meraki are a big plus.
