Overview

Infrastructure Support Engineer – Commodities Trading – London – £45,000. A global commodities trading business in the City is seeking a hands-on Infrastructure Support Engineer to join their London office, supporting a close-knit user base of around 100 employees. This is not a typical helpdesk role. You will be embedded in a lean technical team and expected to take full ownership of support issues across desktops, mobile devices, account management, and infrastructure tools such as Intune, Exchange, VMware, and Zscaler. You will also work closely with third parties and global teams to drive improvements across the estate.

Location: Moorgate (4 days per week in-office)

Salary: £45,000 + benefits

What you\’ll be doing

  • Own and resolve 1st to 3rd line support tickets across a Microsoft-based estate
  • Administer Active Directory, Exchange, Intune, and Mimecast
  • Manage hardware lifecycle: laptops, desktops, mobile devices, desk phones
  • Maintain and monitor systems using tools like LogicMonitor and VMware
  • Onboard and offboard users, manage access via Okta and Zscaler
  • Liaise with global teams and vendors to manage escalations, changes and projects
  • Contribute to system improvements, patching, compliance and documentation

You must have

  • Experience in a mixed support/infrastructure role (1-3 years)
  • Confidence working with:
    • Windows 10/11
    • Active Directory and Exchange (on-prem)
    • Endpoint management tools (Intune, SCCM or similar)
    • Ticketing systems (Jira or similar)
  • A hands-on, proactive approach: this is a lean team where you\’ll be expected to resolve issues independently
  • Clear, professional communication skills, including with front-office users

This role is not for you if

  • You\’ve only worked in a call-logging helpdesk environment with limited technical exposure
  • You rely heavily on escalation for troubleshooting: this role needs technical ownership
  • You are seeking remote or hybrid flexibility beyond one day a week
