Our client is a leading specialist insurance provider, recognised for its innovative approach to technology and data. Operating globally, they develop cutting-edge digital platforms that support underwriting and risk management, with technology at the heart of their continued growth.
As a Technical Lead, you'll be responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex engineering solutions, providing technical direction across the full development life cycle from design through to deployment. You'll also play a key role in improving development processes, managing technical debt, mitigating technical risks and championing quality through automation, testing and CI/CD, ensuring the team delivers scalable, high-quality solutions.
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers, supporting the successful delivery of technical projects from design through to deployment.
- Identify and address technical debt, architectural improvements and delivery risks.
- Champion software quality through automation, testing, CI/CD and development best practices.
- Strong commercial experience developing software using Python - experience within Financial Services is advantageous.
- Previous experience leading or mentoring engineering teams within an Agile environment.
- Excellent SQL skills, including experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server and Databricks.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, engineering best practices and CI/CD.
- Comfortable working directly with SQL and relational databases without relying on ORMs.

This is a permanent opportunity based in London, operating on a hybrid working model with three days per week in the office. The role may require occasional out-of-hours support and limited travel where necessary.
